Success rates
We pride ourselves in our results and, even though we do not exercise strict selection criteria for patients, our figures have always been above the UK national average. Our latest verified success rates can be viewed on the HFEA website at www.hfea.gov.uk (see links below). As these figures are always out of date by one year or more, a copy of our latest unverified results is available on request. Success rates can vary markedly from couple to couple and at your initial consultation with our fertility specialist, you will be given an indication of the likely chance of success based on your age and diagnosis. We believe that once you have this information you should be the ones to decide whether or not to go ahead with the treatment.

Multiple Pregnancy
The latest HFEA figures (for the period 01/04/03 – 31/03/04) reveal that 23.6% of live births resulting from IVF and ICSI treatment (fresh embryo transfers) were twins compared with only 1% following natural conception. Although this may sound like a bonus, you should be aware that the risk of complications during a twin pregnancy is much higher, with less chance of the babies being born healthy and developing normally. For this reason the HFEA Code of Practice now states that no more than two embryos should be transferred in any one treatment cycle for women under 40, and no more than three embryos in a cycle for women aged 40 or over. Research has shown that limiting the number of eggs or embryos transferred during treatment to two reduces the number of multiple pregnancies without causing a significant decrease in overall pregnancy rate.
